Tips for this recipe:

  • Buy the big jar - We use Primal Kitchen’s paleo mayonnaise in this recipe. It’s a dairy free (and Whole30) option and available at Costco. You can get a very large jar for the cost of a small one at your traditional grocery stores. If you don’t need it to be dairy free, you could always use a different mayonnaise, but keep in mind that it will have a different flavor profile than the one I used to make this!

  • Double, triple, make as much as you like - This recipe is SO easy to make in a large batch. I almost always double it. It’s just as easy, but takes a bit longer to mix, as the regular serving size.

  • You can make it in advance - Actually - I’d almost recommend it! This coleslaw is delicious freshly made, but I almost prefer it on day 2 when the flavor has all soaked in!

  • Save time with the bagged coleslaw mix - If you’re feeling ambitious, you can chop up your own cabbage for this recipe, but I like to buy the pre-mixed bags. It probably costs a few dollars more, but this dairy free coleslaw recipe is inexpensive to begin with (you just need the mix, mayo and then other ingredients you likely already have!) so the added few is worth it for me.
